Week 4 Run 3| Couch to 5K Program
Second run after the return, me and Mr K decided to do a run when he got in from work. It was dark and it was cold. I found my hat and got ready to go.
I found this run really hard for some reason. Maybe I don’t like running in the dark, maybe for me its all about enjoying the scenery. I didn’t enjoy the pavement, I didn’t enjoy the traffic, I just didn’t enjoy it at all.
I chose to run down the main road in Solway to utilise the street lighting and its fairly flat there but boy the pavement was hard on my back and hips. It also might have been that I’d had some deep tissue work done by Teresa from Intrinsic Performance. She’s doing some biomechanics assessment and treatment on my leg. My back hurt almost to the point of me stopping and giving up but I powered through.
Pete works in Wellington and commutes on the train. This is why we ran at this time of night as I had to wait until he gets home at 6pm.
All of the runs, 3 and 5 minutes seemed to go on forever and each thud on the pavement was another thud. Thud, thud, thud.
I completed the run but I don’t think I want to run that route again it’s much better the other way from the CrossFit box. We regularly run from Edwin Feist Place up to the same point but it just seems so much friendlier that way.
