** It was a partner workout and Pete was my partner, we shared the load of the scaled workout in the brackets.
I was apprehensive about the workout as it was all in dashes on the board until we guessed all of the letters. We went out on a 400m warm up run. Surprisingly I felt really good on this run, I do well with morning work outs and really enjoy them.
I was given the choice of doing box burpees or get down onto the floor and get up again. If I did the box burpees I had to do 50, but if I got down on the floor only 40 – so I chose to get down on the floor. It was a sort of burpee, Pete and I shared the load of the whole workout and he is good at burpees. He recently did the burpee challenge.
My push ups were banded, after some instruction I paid attention to getting the form right, I would estimate I did around half the load on these.
The walking lunges were hard and I can’t lunge to the floor yet, but my form is getting lower, soon I will be there. We shared the load 10 at a time.
The squats were also hard, I think we took those 10 at a time, with Pete talking slightly more than me and I had a very low box for stability and confidence. My form was good.
The final set of pushups and burpees were hard, and Pete was now getting pretty tired so I took more of the load at then end, I tend to pace myself to be able to do this at the end for a push. We work well as a team together as Pete goes hard out at the beginning.
I’m looking forward to being able to team up with him in some competitions when we are ready to do them.
I ran all of the 200m runs, I think I walked for about 5 steps in the second to last run. It felt good to be running.
Post Workout
I felt very sore on Sunday, Saturday was not so bad. I couldn’t run on that day so had a day off. Spent the weekend chilling out. I felt very positive after this WOD though that things were turning around for my fitness levels.
